Theatre

Theatre is social. The campfire. Sitting and breathing together, sharing stories.

I love to write for theatre. My play Water Falling Down premiered at the QTC in Brisbane on 7 April 2011 and was performed by Ron Haddrick AO and Andrew Buchanan, directed by Andrea Moor and designed by Ross Wallace. Reviews include: Media & Culture, Time Off, The Australian. Playwriting Australia developed the play at the 2009 National Script Workshop and 2010 National Play Festival. Hear me talking about the play on ABC radio. I am currently exploring productions of The Road Rises Up and The Chinese Executioner.

I believe our theatre companies are valuable parts of our culture and communities. If we don’t get involved, they won’t exist. I joined the board of Legs on the Wall in 2010 and recently became Chair. ‘Legs’ is an exciting theatre company with an international reputation thanks to the amazing performers that have created its shows for over 30 years. Patrick Nolan, the new Artistic Director, led the team that created My Bicycle Loves You, a great success at the 2011 Sydney and Perth festivals. Legs is based at the Red Box in Lilyfield, Sydney. We look forward to a great future.
